Real Application Documentation

The prime objective of producing documentation is to enable those involved in AS400 - iSeries development not currently familiar with the application to understand the design and logic of the application. Consequently, when problems have to be solved or enhancements made, the sections of code that require modification can be located and understood quickly. Traditional documentation is static and soon becomes outdated as new enhancements are added to code. With Databorough's X-Analysis, documentation is routinely kept in step with whatever changes are made to the software. X-Analysis combines highly detailed cross-referencing with high-level analysis and documentation in a single product.

Upgrading from older Tools

Older products are useful as are the AS400 standard cross-referencing features. All of these products have a limited use in the context of real documentation. A comment passed by an X-Analysis user: "We needed more than we could get out of Hawkeye" (They replaced Hawkeye with X-Analysis) A key point to make here is that these older tools are useful in the hands of programmers and developers. Managers and Analysts however, get very little direct value or use from these products. This is not the case with X-Analysis. The product is used with equal benefit and enthusiasm by both highly technical AS400 programmers, and Business Analysts (with little or no programming knowledge) alike.
